Wine making in the Land of Israel started thousands of years ago, and the traditions continue to this day in the various parts of the country, each area with its own unique and individual traits.
The Galilee and Golan Heights, in the north of Israel, are considered areas with climate and soil which are particularly suitable for growing wine grapes. Wine culture is especially developed in these areas, and there are dozens of wineries throughout the Galilee and Golan, amongst them many boutique wineries.
A wine trip to the Galilee and Golan includes visits to boutique wineries with long standing family traditions and techniques In addition to tasting the different wines.
We will also get to know an assortment of other culinary products typical to these areas, such as olive oil, cheeses, herbs and special vegetables.
We’ll learn about the unique cuisines of the Galilee and the Golan, taste the different foods typical to them – styles which are born of the unique mixture of different cultures and peoples who have lived in the Galilee and the Golan throughout history.
We could also combine the tour with a visit to the many nature preserves in the Galilee and Golan, and with short hikes among springs, waterfalls and the local fauna as well as a multitude of historical and religious sites scattered throughout this rich area.
